My stay at Hotel Abest Hakuba was quite a mixed experience. While the staff were wonderful and helped resolve several issues, the hotel itself left a lot to be desired in terms of comfort and amenities. The location is decent for skiing, but it's not exactly ski in/ski out as I had expected. Overall, I would not say the quality of the accommodation justifies the £250 per night price tag.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms were small and lacked storage, with just a few coat hangers and a flimsy toilet roll. There was no space to store wet ski gear, and the beds were hard.
Service
10.0
The staff were outstanding, always cheerful and willing to go above and beyond, especially when one of us needed medical attention.
Location
6.0
The hotel is a few minutes' uphill walk to the lift station, which can be a challenge in the snow. It's not exactly ideal for skiers looking for convenience.
Dining
6.0
The food was a mixed bag, with some decent dishes but often served cold. Breakfast ended too early at 9 AM, which was quite inconvenient.
Facilities
7.0
The onsen was a nice feature of the hotel, and the toiletries were of good quality, but the ski storage could have been better.

My stay at Hotel Abest Hakuba was a mix of highs and lows. The staff was genuinely fantastic and went out of their way to help us, but the overall hotel experience was quite disappointing. While the location is decent for skiing, the rooms and dining facilities left a lot to be desired, especially for the price.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms were quite small and lacked adequate storage, making it hard to unpack and organize our ski gear. We also faced issues with a window that couldn't open, which made it feel a bit stuffy.
Service
9.0
The team at the hotel was amazing; they made sure to check in on us every evening and even helped with unexpected needs, like getting meals sorted when we were hungry.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is great for getting to the slopes, just a short walk to the lifts, which is convenient for skiing. However, the shared toilet and shower facilities may concern those needing privacy.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were quite basic and repetitive, and we often found ourselves waiting for refills or left without some essentials like milk at breakfast. While there were good items like miso soup, most offerings could have been better with a bit more care.
Facilities
6.0
The onsen facilities were decent but lacked warmth in the ski storage area, which made it uncomfortable to store wet gear.

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Abest Hakuba. The staff were truly outstanding, always cheerful and willing to help, which made a real difference. However, the accommodations left much to be desired, from cramped rooms to a lack of housekeeping, making the overall value questionable given the per-night cost of £250.
Rooms

The rooms are quite small and lack sufficient storage, with only a few hangers available. Bedding was stained, and the overall comfort could have been much better, especially the hard beds.
Service

The service was excellent; the staff were very nice, always checking in on us, and went out of their way to help, including providing mattress toppers and transport assistance.
Location
6.0
While the location is decent and just a short walk from the lift station, it isn't 'ski in/ski out' as advertised, and the uphill trek can be tough in snowy conditions.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were hit or miss, with breakfast often being cold and the choices a bit repetitive. However, the freshly cooked dishes on some nights were quite enjoyable.
Facilities

The onsen was a great feature, providing a nice relaxation spot after a day on the slopes. Unfortunately, the ski storage room lacked heating, which was inconvenient.

The location was convenient, just a few minutes walk to the lifts, but it's not true ski-in/ski-out as advertised, which made things a bit cumbersome.

While there were some decent food options, the dining experience was let down by most food being served cold. The buffet style could use some improvements.

The location was convenient for skiing, but the lack of key amenities made it frustrating at times. The food was hit or miss, but there were definitely some standout moments.
